Ospedaletto (Gemona del Friuli) – Parco Stroili, 9.15 p.m
Artists from all over the world have been giving new life to the many stages of Folkest, the event that explores music and culture from all over the world, ever since 1979. This year, the festival will start on June 22nd and end on July 10th.
A big preview of the festival will be held in Ospedaletto di Gemona during an all-female night with Ambra Pintore and her quartet. In 2015, Ambra was the absolute winner of Suonare@Folkest, and the second record of this singer, actress and tv host will be presented during her time at Folkest. The record is entitled “Terre del Ritorno” and was produced by S’Ard Music.
This records represents a significant evolution for the singer, author and composer: the ten tales contained in here are in languages from many Italian regions like Sardinia, Sicily and Apulia, but also in French and in English, all together with jazz saxophone melodies, suggestive Sardinian launeddas, country harmonica sounds.
On the same stage, the young Martina Iori will have a chance to showcase her talents. Her bond with her homeland is made evident by the many songs in ladin contained in her new album “Amore e Buscofen”. Martina Iori’s career begun when she was eight and got the third place in an italian singing contest for children, “lo Zecchino d’Oro”. Ever since then, music was her main focus. Now that she’s 21 she almost got a degree in in violin and has learned to play guitar, flute, piano and ukulele as well.
