Almakantica

ALMAKANTICA

Italy

A Southern Italian folk music group that rearranges traditional songs with a modern twist, often
incorporating original compositions related to social themes. Almakàntica combines several words:
“Alma” (soul) highlighting the poetic and creative spirit, “Cantica” (musical composition), and “Antica”
(ancient) to remember the origins and the past. It brings together different Italian regions through pizziche,
tammurriate, and tarantelle to create a new musical language and unites people expressing themselves
through music with an eye always turned to traditions.
