Blue Weed

A group of Italian musicians obsessed with traditional and contemporary bluegrass sounds. Grown up under the guidance of two historic Italian bluegrass bands, Bluegrass Stuff and Red Wine, in 2022 they decided to join forces to create a new ensemble capable of expressing their own stylistic interpretation of the genre. With a repertoire that focuses on the tradition of bluegrass duos from the 1970s and 1980s (particularly Doc & Merle Watson and Tony Rice & Norman Blake), they revisit the wide range of sounds and styles of bluegrass music from its origins to the present day. It’s a sort of sung lesson, retracing the social history of bluegrass and its interactions with American music of the late 20th century.
