The strong passion of four musicians for the musical traditions of the Mediterranean basin leads to the birth of the collective Dimotika, from the Greek for people. A formation with no imposed limits, neither of organic nor of repertoire, thus free to mutate to probe the musical languages of the folk tradition. In the Dimotika project we find the winds and picks of Fabio and Diego Resta, profound connoisseurs of the Balkan musical tradition, the percussion of Greek origin of Alessandro Darsinòs and the colors of singer and multi-instrumentalist Simona Gatto. Together they reread and re-propose some of the most beautiful compositions born around the mare nostrum: from Macedonia to Bulgaria, from Greece to Turkey, to the Near East.
