FRIEDERIKE SCHULZ & BERNARD REVEL

Guitarist and lutenist, pupil of Eugen Dombois and Hopkinson Smith, Bernard Revel founded with Friederike Schulz the Ensemble Convivencia. He was Director of the artistic residence at the Abbey of Caunes Minervois (Aude) from 1989 to 1993, fascinating Marcel Dadi himself for his guitar playing. Moved to Strasbourg in '93 he has collaborated with Georges Bonnaud, actor of the Théâtre du Soleil and later music and interpreting Estienne Moulinié, Adrian le Roy, Manuscrit de Bayeux, les poètes Villon, Rabelais, Ronsard, Irish songs. He is the author of music for (Kingdom of Heaven, by Ridley Scott, among others). In 2012 he received from the famous Irish luthier George Lowden a magnificent seven-string folk guitar.
Friederike Schulz studied singing and bowed viella, she later took on with Bernard Revel the Artistic Direction of the Résidence de Créations at the Abbey of Caunes Minervois (Aude) from '91 to '93. After moving to Strasbourg, he deepened the repertoire of polyphonic and Renaissance music. In 2004 she won the Grand Prix spécial du Jury of the Alsace Foundation for the quality of her artistic work with the Ensemble Convivencia. Parallel to her career as a singer, Friederike has created several choreographies and collaborated with various Opera directors.
