Alexandre Joyeux Paganini was born in Paris in 1978; his mother is French while his father is Italian. When he is seven years old, he is a scugnizzo (urchin) free to wander alone in the streets of Paris until late at night, so he knows by heart the map of the subway and all the libraries where he can listen to music for free. On the day of his 18th birthday, he leaves for Florence with just one purpose in mind: meeting up with his father for the first time. He stays there for some months, working as a manual laborer or pony express, and learns to speak Italian. He is always traveling between Italy and France, from Florence to Paris and vice versa, by hitchhiking, by Vespa, or train (with no ticket). He knows by heart all the service stations, and he can rely on several truckers who always give him a lift. He becomes well known, collaborates with a lot of talented musicians and starts elaborating his own project, characterized by a personal sound.
