Folkest 2022

Performances, music and meetings in Friuli Venezia Giulia, but also in Koper (Slovenia) and at Pieve di Soligo (Veneto), some special events in the months of July and August, the Folkest Prize – a life for Music which was awarded to Judy Collins and the Alberto Cesa Prize, addressed to the new proposals of world music: all this was Folkest 2022.

From some great artists who have made the history of world music and rock, from Jethro Tull to Alan Stivell, from Judy Collins to Mellow Mood, to Massimo Priviero, giving more and more space to new proposals; a section, this last, It would become central from 2023, the following year, also thanks to a new project, Upbeat, which gathers the fourteen largest showcase European festivals.

Many are the collaborations that also in this edition Folkest has put into play: with the festival Nei suoni dei Luoghi for the concert of Jethro Tull in Udine, with the festival Frattempi for the concert of Antoine Ruiz in Udine, with the Gottardo Tomat Association for musical seminars, with AIAS and CAN Capodistria, with the Itaca Cooperative for the project Capitano Tutte A Noi, Palchi nei Parchi with the concert of the Green Waves. Not forgetting the Guitar International Rendez-Vous with ADGPA Convention and the Mosaicisti School of Friuli. Fourth edition for the Folk Clinics, increasingly central to the project, with a non-fashion in-depth study that we thought it was right to dedicate to Pasolini, an exhibition of lutherie and a comprehensive reflection on the guitar magician, De Andrè… and Folkest! Special thanks to those who have continued to believe in our work and support us.
